Great Pubs and Cool Bars in Birmingham.
Birmingham is England's second largest city and, with more students than any other UK city outside London, it’s not surprising that Birmingham’s nightlife is one of the liveliest in the country. Whether you are after the bustle of the bars and clubs in Broad Street, some of the city’s hippest nightspots in the Mailbox, or the newest restaurants in Brindleyplace - all are within easy reach of the city centre. If you’re a cool clubber, the Arcadian is the only place to be. This area of the city offers a wide range of bars and clubs from one of Birmingham’s best gay clubs, Missing, to smooth grooves in Poppy Red. |
With its exciting line up of clubs and bars, Birmingham is the ultimate place to unwind or go large.
The Arcadian Centre dishes up a red hot selection of such cool 'n funky pre-clubbing bars like 52 Degrees North; the Asia-centric, Sobar; Poppy Red and the minimalist, Arca.
Across town the tree-lined streets and squares of canalside Brindleyplace spoil you for choice with stylish bars that include the urban chic and Latin fire of Ipanema, the Champagne sophistication of Bar Milano and Bank Restaurant and Bar, famous for its cocktails! |
A stroll down the canal brings you to The Mailbox, a throbbing hub of vibrant nightlife, where you can soak up the splendour of the canals as you chill out with the music and drinks on offer at Bar Room Bar, Zizzi and the exclusive Bar Epernay with its famous revolving piano.
The so-called Golden Mile of Broad Street is the city's nightlife hub. You can't walk more than a few feet without finding another fabulously stylish bar pumping out blood bubbling beats and a range of belting beers that put the hop into hip hop. |
The latest style-sizzling development zone is Summerrow where you'll find the relaxed ski-lodge comfort of Après and, by way of an up-tempo contrast, the exuberant bling buzz of New York style late lounge Mechu and its brasserie companion Mix at Mechu.
Don't be deceived by the leafy tranquillity of St Paul's Square. Situated near the Jewellery Quarter around the wonderful St Paul's church, is the Jam House, the live music bar supported by Jools Holland where you can guarantee a hot night of boogie woogie duelling pianists and special guest artists.
