Worlds Highest Bars
Cloud 9, Shanghai, Worlds Highest BarIf heights are your thing, but hanging around on the end of a rope dangling off some mountain doesn't really push your buttons, here's a better way of enjoying yourself.

The World's Highest Bars: a stylish way of enjoying high altitude.

Cloud 9, in Shanghai. The world's highest bar, almost atop the world's tallest hotel - the Grand Hyatt. To be honest, you could make an evening of it here. Work your way up via the Piano Bar (53rd floor) to the Patio Bar (56th floor) before reaching Cloud 9 (87th Floor). But don't go all that way without stopping! Take your drinks and walk one floor up to the Sky Lounge, and just enjoy a spectacular evening.
Sicorro, Bangkok, Thailands Highest BarSicorro, in Bangkok. The ultimate in alfresco drinking and dining on the 63rd floor roof terrace of the Dome Building.
If you're a jazz lover it's unlikely you'll ever leave as they host live jazz here six nights a week.
If you feel a night chill coming (unlikely but hey) go inside and one floor up you'll find Distil (64th floor). An oyster and single malt whiskey bar, Distil offers an incredible collection of malts. Once the chill in you has gone, they can be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace.
New Asia Bar, Equinox Complex, Singapore Highest BarEquinox Centre, Singapore. New Asia Bar, City Space and Intobar, together with two restaurants JAAN and Equinox, occupy levels 69 thru to 72 of this !stylish complex within Singapore's tallest hotel.

New Asia Bar: Open from 3pm. Spectacular at night and a seriously sexy setting with panoramic views across the city.
Very hip and trendy. Cover charges apply from 5pm and go up at 9pm depending on the day of the week. Remember there's an 18 age limit (female) but 23 for men.
City Space: Level 70. Cosy and chilled with a singer and pianist. No cover charges after 8pm, same age limits as New Asia. Open from 5pm.
Intobar: Level 1. Much as its name suggests, this is a great meeting place. Open from 11am, very stylish and comfortable.
JAAN: Level 70. Open for both lunch and dinner (closed on Sundays, and NO children under 8), with really good French and modern international cuisine.
Equinox Restaurant: At 227 metres above sea level, this is an amazing ampi-theatre styled restaurant.
CN Tower Toronto Highest RestaurantCN Tower, Toronto. Not a bar as such, but as the 360 degree rotating restaurant is at 351 metres (1150 ft), there's no better way for you to get a complete and unobstructed view of Toronto. The added benefit is of course the 500+ wines they keep up there.

Tan Hill Inn, England. Britain's highest pub in the Yorkshire Dales. Don't feel you'll be cut off when you visit as it also boasts the UK's
highest Wi-Fi spot. Not easy to get to, but worth the effort because this great pub offers accomodation, fabulous food - oh and weddings if you want to get hitched.

Johnnie Fox's, Ireland. Ireland's highest pub and only 25 miles from Dublin. Established in 1798 it's also one of the oldest. There's a host of reasons to visit - from the food - the ambience - the music and the dancing. Their "Hooley" show runs to nearly midnight, so if you're a fan of "Riverdance" or never got to see it, here's a smaller mirror image for you to absorb.
